Thailand - Reduced VAT Rate Extended

The Thai government cabinet announced on July 3rd 2018 that the VAT rate will remain at a reduced rate of 7% for another year.

The rate had been due to increase to 10% on October 1st 2018 but instead it will stay at 7% for another year from that date. The government cited concerns that as the country’s economic performance is improving, a VAT increase would slow down the economy and push up the prices of consumer products and services.
